At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Site Engineer to join our client’s growing team based in Carlow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.
Your new role includes:
  • Setting Out: Accurately set out the site using GPS and Total Stations.
  • Site Coordination: Liaise with the Site Manager/Project Manager and other site staff to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Compliance: Ensure all site works are executed in compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality standards on-site.
  • Documentation: Record daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in the site diary.
  • Subcontractor Management: Supervise and monitor subcontractors’ work.
  • Material Management: Coordinate and control plant and material on-site.
  • Reporting: Provide progress reports to the Project Manager.
  • Meetings: Attend site meetings and ensure issues are discussed and resolved.
  • BCAR Compliance: Manage BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulations) inspections and ensure all works comply with BCAR requirements.
 
Experience you need:
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in Ireland or the UK.
  • Education: A third-level qualification in construction or civil engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in setting out using GPS and Total Stations.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in software such as CAD and Procore Technologies is an advantage.
  • Safety Training: Managing Safety in Construction, Safe Pass, and Manual Handling training.
  • Driving License: Full Irish driving license.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems on-site.
  • Health and Safety: Additional certifications in health and safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Environmental Management: Knowledge of environmental management systems and regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Experience with quality assurance processes and standards.
