Full job description
Due to continuing expansion, this company now have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assistant to join our team and support the Quality and Production functions within the business. This is a fantastic role for someone with a strong understanding of quality assurance and compliance who wants to develop their career in a progressive and supportive environment. You'll work closely with existing quality and production teams to ensure the company continues to meet regulatory standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements.
Reporting to the existing QC Lead, the key responsibilities of the role include:

Responsibilities
· Perform routine QC checks as required by the QC Policy and Procedures (Daily/Weekly) Ensure paperwork and compliance reports are performed as required and kept up to date
· Learn, understand and manage the candle test burning function, monitor and report daily.
· Assist in managing the quality control and product recall processes to ensure accurate batch traceability and deviation management.
· Manage the quality compliance program ensuring the controls in the compliance register are adhered too, and records of compliance are maintained. Investigate variances from standard work while actively suggesting and implement improvements to existing processes.
· Assist with the preparation and completion of external and internal audits, ensuring identified issues are captured as corrective actions.
· Ensure adherence to control of documented information process ensuring that all verification records are maintained.
· Assist the QC lead in managing the Health and Safety Function, ensuring that safety training programs are up to date.
· Assist in managing the regulatory function, understanding Formpak software and providing support.
· Assist in the maintenance of the risk assessment program to ensure that all risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments are completed in compliance with requirements.
· Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of company policies, processes, and procedures.
· Develop, maintain and drive safety observation and near miss reporting processes, ensuring that any concerns raised are documented, and relevant actions taken, with results of those actions reported back to those that raised the concern.

Skills and Competence Requirements
· Recent graduates in a related field, up to 2 years’ experience in a similar role an advantage.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong IT and Microsoft Suite Skills desirable
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work through problems methodically and logically
· Focus on the identification of potential issues, implementation of suitable countermeasures, and continuous improvement.
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Open to further education in Quality Control / Lean Manufacturing related fields.
