Your new role includes:
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for projects.
  • Manage and track project costs, variations, and change orders.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Perform monthly valuations of work in progress and prepare interim payment applications.
  • Assess, value, and negotiate subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
  • Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of commercial objectives.
  • Support project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget.
 
 
Experience you need:
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally within [residential/commercial/civil/fit-out] sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Excellent understanding of cost control, procurement, and contract law.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Buildsoft).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
