Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Cork

Salary: Neg DOE

Our client, a leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to join their team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery and management of HVAC and Cleanroom installations on multiple sites.

Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Overall management of project delivery to the satisfaction of all stakeholders including determination and definition of the scope of work and project deliverables.
  • Project scheduling, reporting and resource distribution.
  • Procurement of resources, equipment, materials, subcontractors (Direct & specialist) etc. for delivery of the project.
  • Cost control and recovery for contract and variation works.
  • Successful management of the client's expectations and procurement of follow-on works.
  • Presentation of monthly progress reports to the Project Director.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in compliance to all building and safety regulations.
  • Report and manage any changes/variations with the QS on the project, raising and managing RFI's, managing labour trackers etc.
  • Liaising with teams on site including Main Contractors, client's site team, subcontractors, Design teams etc.
  • Coordination and delivery of project plant and equipment

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or other applicable discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the Construction Industry, with a preference for experience gained on pharma/ biopharma projects.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects at a time
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and BIM.
  • High level of attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Construction, Engineering, and Architecture principles.
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
