Description
Our client working in the Construction Industry are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to support their finance/accounts function and assist with the day-to-day work load. This is a Great Opportunity to joinj this vibrant company
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with site teams to generate Purchase Orders (PO’s) issuing them to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Track deliveries of material’s and update matching PO’s/Invoices
- Process supplier invoices through the OCR (invoice scanning system) matching them to PO’s, credit notes and payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records including purchase and sales ledgers.
- Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.
- Support month-end tasks including accruals, prepayments, and reporting.
- Assist with VAT, RCT and CSO returns.
- Liaise with site managers and suppliers regarding queries and documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
Requirements:
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar accounts or bookkeeping role.
- Experience in the construction industry would be an advantage but not essential.
- Currently studying or enrolled in a bookkeeping, accounting technician, or related accountancy course would be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero or similar).
- Proficient in MS Excel and general computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
