Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor to join their growing construction team based in County Galway. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring value for money while maintaining high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning
- Manage project costs from initial estimates through to final accounts
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular financial reports
- Identify, analyse, and manage commercial risks
- Assess variations and manage change control processes
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations
- Liaise with clients, contractors, site managers, and other stakeholders
- Carry out site visits to monitor progress and cost performance
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, cost management tools)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full, clean driving licence (preferred)
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects in Ireland
- Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards
