Job Summary
The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing all civil works on a 75-unit residential development. The role ensures that construction activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day site activities for residential construction (foundations, RCC works, masonry, plastering, finishing, external works).
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour.
- Check line, level, alignment, and dimensions before and during execution.
- Assist in preparing short-term and weekly work plans.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and consultants.
- Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and manpower as per construction schedule.
- Implement quality control procedures and inspection checklists.
- Conduct inspections for reinforcement, formwork, concrete pours, and finishes.
- Ensure testing of materials (concrete, steel, soil, etc.) as per standards.
- Rectify defects and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Enforce site safety rules and company HSE policies.
- Identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site records, work progress reports, and material consumption.
- Prepare measurement sheets for contractor bills and internal tracking.
- Assist with site instructions, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Relevant certifications in site safety or quality control are an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in residential building projects.
- Experience with multi-unit housing projects preferred.
- Hands-on experience with RCC, finishing works, and site coordination.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and under site pressure.
