Role: Transport Planner
Location: Limerick
Job Type: Permanent - Full time
Salary: Up to €40k, depending on experience
Role Overview
The Transport Planner is responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and control of transport operations based out of Limerick/Tipperary. The role focuses on route planning, driver scheduling, service delivery, and operational efficiency to ensure customer and business requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and schedule daily and weekly transport operations to ensure efficient use of vehicles and drivers.
• Optimise routes to improve efficiency, service levels, and cost control.
• Liaise closely with drivers, warehouse teams, customers, and site management to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Monitor driver hours, tachograph compliance, and working time in line with legal and company requirements.
• Respond proactively to operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, or changes to delivery schedules.
• Ensure transport documentation and system records are accurate and up to date.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations.
• Ensure all transport activities are carried out in accordance with Company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Utilise the microlise system to ensure efficiency and customer service requirements
