POSITION: Steel Detailer / Engineer

LOCATION: Wexford

SALARY: Negotiable DOE

An Engineering company based in the Southeast, that provides a wide range of steelwork related services to a range of public and private sector clients, is seeking to recruit an experienced Detailer / Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITies

You will work within a collaborative team environment on a range of residential, commercial, industrial, data centres, leisure and retail projects

The ideal candidate will have had hands-on, technical experience gleaned from a career in the engineering / construction sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, diligent, and ambitious Detailer / Engineer to join a growing company.

• Carry out on site surveys.
• Liaise with architects / engineers / main contractor.
• Provide 2D/3D CAD Drawings.
• Performing Design Reviews with client/design/production departments.
• Produce layout drawings to be issued for approval.
• Produce fabrication drawings.
• Prepare Material list for procurement.

REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering degree, Management or equivalent technical qualification preferably Mechanical, Structural, Process / Manufacturing, Construction Management
• 5 - 10 years relevant experience in the Engineering / Construction sector.
• Strong technical background
• Proficient with packages like, excel, word and Google Workspace.
• AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, FEA software etc. would be an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interacting with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills along with an ability to input effectively into decision making, with the team.
• A strong communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking.
• Sound judgement and good business sense
• Analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of steelworks & metalworks industry would be an advantage especially in the design / detailing of Balconies
• Knowledge of steel detailing in AutoCAD, Advanced Steel, Tekla or Solidworks preferable but not essential, as training will be provided
• Having Structural Engineer qualifications an advantage but not essential
• Knowledge of STRUMIS software an advantage
• Knowledge of EN 1090 - CE Marking would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of current building regulations an advantage.
• Work to agreed programme of works and meet strict deadlines.
