Position: Senior Structural Design Engineer

Location: Meath

Salary: Neg DOE

Engineer Responsibilities:

• In house engineering designs
• Manage external structural engineering consultants
• Provide an information pack for the external engineering consultants
• Review external engineers' calculations, analyse the steel content and compare to stated tender
• Send out the external engineers calculations to clients engineers and set deadlines for their return
• Collate comments on calculations returned from client's engineers and forward them to our external engineers for action with set deadlines
• Liaise with Client Engineers on other necessary queries
• Interpret calculations for the draughting team
• Provide engineering support to the drawing office and factory and advise on technical issues
• Site visits and factory visits as required
• Review drawn information and making sure it is in line with the calculations provided by our external engineering consultants
• Prepare bending schedules for loose bars for purchasing manager
• Brief Precast Manager weekly on progress of engineering on the various projects running

Engineer Requirements:

• A recognised degree in Structural Engineering.
• Previous experience as a structural designer in steel / RC /precast concrete.
• Experience in design, ideally contractor design experience.
• Ability to make decisions and work on own as well as part of a team.
• Strong technical ability and analytical skills.
• Site experience would be an advantage.
• Positive attitude and proactive problem solving approach.
• In depth knowledge with current design standards.
