JOB: Procurement Officer (Construction)

Location: Kilkenny

Salary: DOE

Our clients are experts in the extraction, manufacture and supply of Irish Blue Limestone, and proudly serve in the construction of prestige edifices worldwide.


  • Gathering Information from Maintenance, Operations, Factory Supervisors, Production, Quarry managers and Health and Safety, Sales, and Quality. For all items required, this may require photos of parts, machine serial number labels, part numbers and descriptions and forwarded to Vendors.
  • Issuing and management of PO's. This is forwarded to Vendor to confirm order and site delivery.
  • Collaborate with Finance department if deposit or full payments of payments are made pre delivery.
  • Confirmation of goods or orders are delivered or works completed have to be receipt /released.
  • Delivery dockets to be scanned and uploaded to Navision on Ireland account and registered to Vendors account.
  • Track deliveries for Vendors with transporter and couriers.
  • Communication of deliveries to necessary personnel.
  • Work with Finance department to identify all payments are made to keep Vendor payments conditions are met.
  • Ensuring correct company and bank details are correct for new vendors when added on Navision.
  • Negotiation prices / quotations with all vendors.
  • Meet with vendor representatives to discuss service, new products, pricing etc.
  • Built a good relation so best service, price and urgent delivery aligns with Kilkenny limestone needs.
  • Issue P/O for yearly orders to ensure agreed best prices are maintained.
  • Work closely with Production, Quarry and Factory supervisors to ensure consumable goods for packing, production items are ordered in advance to ensure consist of and constant supply.
  • Responsible for ordering all PPE equipment requires for workers to complete their work in health and safe manner.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be flexible in respect of shift changes and to participate in the maintenance procedure as required.
  • Responds positively to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Strong team player.
  • High level of organisational and multi-tasking skills.
