Position: Interiors Project Designer/Engineer

Location: Bronx, New York

Salary: Negotiable DOE

The Interiors Project Engineer is responsible for interpreting architectural drawings, creating shop drawings, site surveying and ordering materials for Office Front and Interior glass projects.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Interpretation of architectural details and drawings
• Effective drafting of designs for shop drawings and fabrication
• Understanding of door hardware
• Responsible for ordering materials required for fabrication and installations
• Effective communication in both technical and business operational terms (oral and written)
• Field measuring
• Produce effective hand sketches of existing conditions and proposed installations
• Ability to fluently manipulate Computer Aided Design software
• Experience in Inventor and/or Vault a plus
• Read and understand Architectural Drawings including door and hardware schedule
• Advanced Excel skills
• Measuring tools and laser knowledge
• Professionalism in a team-oriented organization
• Willingness and ability to learn and grow
• Technically adept
• Highly accurate in mathematical skills, data manipulation and technical drafting
• Ability to communicate effectively orally, in written form, and in graphics (shop drawings)

Qualifications & Experience

• Third Level Education (preferred in Engineering or Architecture)
• Office Front, Glass & Metal and Interiors industry experience a plus
• 3D Drawing ability a plus
