As a Lagger, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and safety of various construction projects by applying insulation materials to pipes, ducts, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and fit insulation materials such as fiberglass, foam, or mineral wool to pipes, ducts, and mechanical systems.
- Apply lagging to maintain temperature control and prevent condensation, corrosion, and energy loss.
- Inspect surfaces and prepare materials for insulation installation according to project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure insulation meets safety and quality standards.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment necessary for lagging tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment on-site.
- Document work progress and report any issues or challenges to the site supervisor.
- Proven experience working as a lagger or in insulation installation.
- Experience installing fire-rated insulation to fire-rated ductwork.
- Experience installing Class O insulation to standard ductwork.
- Familiarity with different types of insulation materials and their applications.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments and conditions.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines related to insulation work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
