“At Elk Recruitment we are currently recruiting for an Electrical Site Supervisor to cover the South Region including Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, and Tipperary. This is a full time and permanent position and is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a well-established company working in the water industry.

- Responsible for the direct supervision and scheduling of directly employed electricians and technicians.
- Responsible for the direct supervision and scheduling of sub-contractor from all disciplines (electrical, control & automation, and civils for minor ducting and enabling works.
- Approx. 3-4 sites will be live at any given time.
- Material take-offs
- Purchasing of all consumable electrical equipment and sundries.
- Planning of Works
- Planning of resources required
- All requirements as set out under the Health & Safety Plan – Inducting personnel, delivering RAMS to site personnel, delivering Tool-Box-Talks, Permits-to-work, ensuring all H&S forms are in place and up-to-date on site.
- Arranging sub-contractors from other disciplines (civil, electrical, automation)
- Implementation of all site Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for initial site set up and mobilisation of works.
- Liaison with Project Managers and Engineers.
- Fitting of equipment to a professional standard. Installations must look neat and tidy and be carried out in such a manner that the end user can safely access and operate the equipment.
- Comply with Company and Client’s stringent safety standards
- Liaise with our Client’s during installation to ensure safety and quality compliance.
- Building a good rapport with Client Resident Engineering Team and Plant Operator and continuous liaison with this team.
- Prepare all siteworks including the completion of all Permits to Work, Safe Plan of Action’s and creating a safe work area.
Experience you need:
- The successful candidate must have the ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- This role requires experience in installation of Control Panels, Back-Up Generators, UPS, Power Factor Correction, VSD’s and all associated cabling & containment.
- Candidate must have experience in commissioning equipment in particular MCC’s, VSD’s and instrumentation.
- Strong technical capability with attention to detail in reading drawings, templates, schematics P&ID’s and other drawings.
- Willingness to travel (within Ireland) where necessary.
- A full clean driver’s licence is required.
