Our Client is looking for a Business Development Executive to join their growing sales team. Reporting to the Business Development Director, this is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded professional to play a key role in their next phase of growth.
The successful candidate will be part of a growing team responsible for implementing the company’s sales strategy, identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with retailers and commercial clients, and promoting the companies full range of technology solutions. While the focus is on new business development and B2B sales, the role also involves maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the companies established sales strategy across its three core business pillars: Retail Loss Prevention, Digital Signage, and Customer Analytics.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Ireland, building a robust pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Present Mercury Retail Services’ technology solutions to retail clients, tailoring proposals to meet specific operational and commercial needs.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and close.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure a seamless client experience from initial engagement through to delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline status, and performance metrics in line with company processes.
- Prepare forecasts, progress reports, and market feedback for the Business Development Director.
- Attend key trade events, exhibitions, and customer meetings as a Mercury Retail Services brand ambassador.
- Achievement of individual and team sales targets.
- Growth of new business pipeline and successful conversion rates.
- Customer retention and repeat business from key accounts.
- Quality and timeliness of reporting and CRM updates.
- Contribution to overall company growth objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in B2B sales and new business development, ideally within retail technology, security, or related fields.
- Strong commercial awareness, motivated self-starter, and capable of working on their own initiative to identify and capitalise on all business opportunities presented.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Highly organised with strong time management and follow-up discipline.
- Experience with Pipedrive CRM is desirable but not essential.
- Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- The candidate may be based anywhere in Ireland but must be available for regular travel and office collaboration days in Ballymount.
