Job Summary
We are seeking an organised and reliable Admin / Purchasing Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our busy electrical wholesale branch. The successful candidate will play a key role in purchasing, supplier liaison, stock control, and general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Stock Control
- Raising purchase orders with suppliers
- Monitoring stock levels and reordering as required
- Liaising with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, deliveries, and returns
- Processing delivery notes and matching invoices
- Assisting with stock queries and discrepancies
Administrative Duties
- General office administration and data entry
- Maintaining accurate records on purchasing and stock systems
- Answering phone calls and emails professionally
- Supporting sales and warehouse teams with admin requirements
- Filing and document management
Requirements
- Previous experience in an admin or purchasing role (electrical wholesale or construction-related industry an advantage)
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using computers and systems (ERP/stock systems an advantage)
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive
Desirable (but not essential)
- Knowledge of electrical products or wholesale environment
- Experience dealing with suppliers
- Familiarity with invoicing and stock systems
